Helpful Hints as You Pack for Ocean Villa

To help you prepare for your trip, we’ve gathered some helpful information about Puerto Rico, what to expect during your stay, and what to bring with you.

Language & Travel Essentials

  • Official languages: Spanish and English (English is widely spoken)
  • Legal drinking age: 18
  • Passports: Not required for U.S. citizens
    • You will still need valid photo ID for air travel and often for credit card use, so please keep it with you.
  • Currency: U.S. Dollar (USD)

Smoking Policy

Puerto Rico is a smoke-free island. Smoking is prohibited in all indoor public places, including hotel and villa interiors. Smoking is permitted outdoors only, and only when it does not affect others.

This policy applies to your villa.

What to Pack

  • Swimsuits, goggles, beach cover-ups
  • Casual clothing (shorts, tees, lightweight shirts)
  • A light sweatshirt or jacket for breezy evenings or boat cruises

Dining note: Some restaurants request smart casual attire.

  • Men: collared shirt, long pants (no shorts)
  • Women: no beachwear

Food & Groceries

Local grocery stores carry many familiar brands, but availability can vary due to island supply.

Guests often like to bring:

  • A favorite coffee brand
  • Frozen hot dogs (for children who prefer familiar foods)
  • Fruit, if packable — many guests bring cut fruit in insulated bags, as shelf life on the island can be short.

Your Villa

Your villa is fully equipped for a comfortable stay, including:

  • Complete kitchen (pots, pans, stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker)
  • Towels (bath and beach)
  • Washer and dryer (for clothing only — not bedding)
    • Please plan to purchase your preferred laundry detergent

Sleeping arrangements:

  • Master bedroom: King-size bed
  • Second bedroom: Two queen-size beds
  • Living area: Pull-out full-size sofa bed (linens stored in chaise)

All linens are provided.

Water & Ice

Tap water is safe to drink

An ice machine is available in the villa

  • If you prefer bottled water, simply fill the ice machine with your choice
  • It produces a generous amount of ice when running continuously
