Exploring Beyond the Resort
Old San Juan – A Must-See Day Trip
Drive toward the airport and continue on Route 26, which merges with Avenida Juan Ponce de León (Route 25). Keep right at the fork and follow Avenida Muñoz Rivera into Old San Juan.
Highlights include:
- Historic Spanish colonial fortresses
- Ancient cathedrals
- Cobblestone streets lined with shops and cafés
We recommend starting at Castillo San Cristóbal, then walking through Old San Juan to El Morro. Flying kites at El Morro is a favorite tradition and a memorable experience for all ages.
For lunch, we love Tijuana’s Bar & Grill (787-724-7070) on Pier #2—right on the water, with great Mexican food and views of cruise ships coming into port.

Snorkeling Adventure
For a fun and memorable excursion, consider a snorkeling trip to Culebra or Icacos.
We recommend East Island Excursions (link)
- Departures from Puerto del Rey Marina in Fajardo (about 30 minutes from the villa)
- Arrive by 8:30 AM, return around 3:00 PM
- Beautiful sailing experience with a great lunch included
👨👩👧 For families: Ask about the 62’ East Wind sailboat with a slide—a big hit with kids!
